Airtel HD - Digitat out Problem

Hi All,

I have finally got Airtel HD STB installed.

Last night I was watching some HD channels and came across a strange issue.

I have connected my HD STB to TV with HDMI and Optical out to my M1DAC.

I was able to play ESPN HD without any problem, however when I switched to Movies Now HD, there was only shuttering noise from my FSs, though sound from TV was still coming fine. I observed this in some other HD channels also.

Anyone faced a similar issue? Any pointers on how to resolve this?

May be ESPN HD is in stereo and Movies Now HD in 5.1

ESPN HD is in Stereo Sound and Movies Now HD comes in 5.1 Dolby Digital Sound.
I can assume the following reason:
- Your TV is able to down-convert 5.1 DD sound to Stereo, hence TV is giving proper sound on Movies Now HD as well.
- May be your DAC is not able to convert 5.1 sound to normal Stereo sound, hence it might be detecting the sound from Front Speakers within 5.1 channel, hence only shuttering sound !
What say ?

FYI :- On Airtel, following channels are telecast in 5.1 DD sound.
Star Plus HD, Colors HD, Star World HD, Star Gold HD, Movies Now HD, Star Movies HD, History TV HD, Discovery HD, NGC HD
However, Zee TV HD, Sony HD, Zee Cinema HD, ESPN HD, Star Cricket HD and TEN HD are telecast in Stereo Sound only.
