ALERT! - Iaudio IN Chennai THIS weekend

Hi,

Thank you.

The speakers are vintage Altec Lansing 515B woofers and Altec Lansing 288-16G HF compression drivers.

The crossover is a simple 6db slope first order crossover at around 950--1000Hz.

The HF horns are 650 Hz round Tactrix horns and the LF cabinets are half horn cabinets designed by Bill Woods of Acoustic Horn fame.they are different take on the old Jensen Ultraflex and Onken cabinets.

I use the Linn Trampolin baseboard under the TT.

Linn - Trampolin

On the heavy rack I use the Trampolin works well, but on a lighter rack I like the sound without any baseboard at all.

I tried metal cones(DIY Tiptoes) under the amp and phonostage but found the sound hardening up,so I stick with the stock rubber feet Viren fixes to the bottom of the amps.

Regards
Rajiv

Thanks for the information Rajiv. And thanks for making me feel like Hi-FI n00b that I am;)

thekinge, You work in image editing/graphics?

No Titus, I used to use PhotoShop when I was a web developer / designer (about 12 years back). From then on, I have been using PhotoShop pretty regularly but not related to my work - because I moved on to other technologies.

OT but this is good news! So I can take a good photoshop tutorial and quickly master GIMP? :)

Cheers

GIMP indeed resembles PhotoShop in many ways like toolbars, filters, and layer management. I have not taken PhotoShop tutorial in years so do not know - but the ones I went through quite a number of years ago taught me not just PhotoShop but also about color palettes etc. As I mentioned before, once you are familiar with PhotoShop, GIMP will be really easy.

Only thing I do not like about GIMP is its startup time. I have a laptop with 3 GB RAM yet it takes more than 45 seconds to load, even while there are not many applications running in my laptop.

Hai Rajiv,

Your set up looks impressive and from Titus's listening posts it made me very curious. Expecting your invitation to have a Vinyl based session.

I audio , rajeev just now i carefully gone through this thread, i think the whole set up is completly after your innovation and matching REALLY HATS OFF. I am damn sure iaudio might have worried after turned back to coconut trees place and switched on his own system. That s the thing happened to me in one time one gentlemen had one diy speaker made with jbl highend driver , horn midrange and crystal tweeter and some peculiar network. Since i am not such a technical man to describe. Inside wiring was done with monster. Boxed and braced on his own ideas since he was an engineer. His amp was b&o beo master 4004. Since he was not familiar with vcr he asked to bring it out. Home alone cassete we played there day and night difference was there. When i turned back home i found my system is just like muffling. Any how i feel i have missed the boat. Waiting for my turn too. I am not familiar with vinyls only tamil cds

Titus i love your reviews and wordings and the manner which you gone through everything. I like the wording 24x7. My assumption also is a really good system will not bore you or give ear fatigue in hrs of hearning. I am following suris thread. Gentlemen i want to visit our country side to see you all expecting that day soon. I come to hear about sg through rally nut i also try to follow. You all are in a network would you mind let me in in your networks pals thanks

I was moved while coming through your setups from my laptops place itself. Thanks to iaudio. What my worry i am not such a technical superb to discuss with your gears but i can depict and adore its marvel after hearing which must be really superb. Thanks rajiv.

While in pre and power. First power on the cd p and the pre and the power amp. While switching off vice versa. If it is tube pre it is a must to wait for till it gets ready before swith on the power this is my assumption is it correct? Pl forum member give your opinion suggestion
