All That Jazz ...

Pat Metheny, Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, Jack DeJohnette - Parallel Realities (Live)

Cantaloupe Island

P.S: The original recording is better, couldn't find a link. Metheny on 'Eye of the Hurricane' is another roller coaster.

i have this album which i bought in cassette form in hyderabad in the mid-90s. a few years ago i found a CD of it on ebay. then i uploaded it to youtube. it's an amazing collection of artists from around the world. and it defies categorisation.

Searching for Jazz playlists, I looked at offerings on gaana.com. Not much there, as could probably be expected, though they have quite a collection of Jazz albums.
A Bollywood jazz playlist caught my attention. Some good music there. Different, definitely, from regular Jazz, though.

One surprising omission is "Kaisi Paheli" from Parineeta.
Got me thinking. There have to be many more Jazz style numbers in Bollywood. Anyone?
Check Raath gayi Baath Gayi..film

I have been to Tidal, Deezer, Apple music and all but always come back to Pandora :). Though compressed (music) but their curation is is what I find best.

Came across this beautiful radio program while researching for something else. It features the very last recordings by some great artistes, accompanied by excellent narration by David Johnson of Night Lights. My personal favorite is the Copenhagen concert by an apparently ailing Stan Getzaccompanied by Kenny Barron...really poignant.

The names of these two tracks sounded very familiar. And indeed..they are The Grateful Dead compositions. Was a Tapehead for a long time. American Anthem , Working Man’s Dead...I listen to them all the time. A few must have albums I don’t delete from my Apple Music downloads on my low memory iPad.
Enjoy this bluegrass classic from American Beauty...

Indeed they are 'Dead' tracks. Beautiful rendition and with Billy Cobham on Drums. All the albums from the group are worth a listen.

Wow, Ahmad Jamal is super prolific at 85!! I was listening to the Marseille CD only yesterday and totally enjoyed it! Moktan, thanks to you also got to listen to the John Coltrane album and enjoyed it a lot!

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
