Dear Team,

I have an old F&D F6000 5.1 speakers,

with time, the sound of those speakers have gone down, Maybe i need to service the inbuilt Amplifier in Subwoofer.

My question is ,

Should i get an external 5.1 amplifier or service the speakers and inbuilt amplifier and connect a good DAC to get Dolby 5.1 sound for movies .

Please suggest what best can i do these speakers , I have a budget of 5000 Rs for any modifications.

I dont think old computer speakers are serviceable like that - they arent built to last that long

You can try new wires, helped me with my Logitech Z5500. But before investing, get F&D service person's opinion. Rashi Peripherals does the servicing of F&D.

Hi,
From the information you have posted, it seems like issue is with the amplifier board in the sub-woofer. I think best option for you would be to take the speakers to F&D service center and see if the problem can be fixed.
One positive thing you have get in any condition is that the speakers (front, center and rare) supplied with this package looks more or les similar to most of the satellite speakers supplied with HTiB packages, and I am sure can be reused. For example, you can look for subwoofer and AVR (may be pre-owned to save money) and use your other speakers from this package. It will at least give you a good way to build your system step by step.
About adding a DAC, DAC is supposed to improve the sound of a computer or digital media but you might require good enough setup to experience the difference. I think you may not require a DAC with this setup, no harm is having a DAC though.
