I have a CA Cxn, very user friendly interface.
I see the specs now, it is early 2000 model, how is the experience? I see your amp is a network stereo receiver, so where in the chain are you using the pre-amp. I am evaluating if I get a used CA 840E in less than Rs 20,000 will it be a value as against getting any DIY pre-amps at similar or lesser price points. Advantages of CA preamps is the plethora of connectivity options they provide but i have no option to audition one at this point in time to draw a conclusion myself. So some first hand experience will be very useful.
Are you using it as a pre-amp too? I see it is marketed as a double up digital pre-amp similar to my CA CDP.

Did you ever compare with any standalone pre-amp?

I didn't do a A/B comparsion but liked Cdp CA Azur 640C V2 better.
Got a used CA 840W from hifishark lead and replaced my existing CA 650A. Now using the 851C in built pre-amp for the moment. Its way better than the predecessor. Will post a detailed review in some time, presently also on the verge of looking for a pre-amp in sub-40K range
