Hi,

am eagerly looking forward to the release of Coldplay - Ghost Stories on 19 May.

Am looking at pre-ordering an LP of the same.

was wondering if there are folks on this forum who love Coldplay music just like i do and if so.. maybe a coldplay meet would be in order somewhere..

Yes. I had the good fortune to listen to them live in Lollapalooza. They completely nailed it. In this day of auto tune and lip synced live shows, their true live act was near perfect.

These days i listen to"Death and all his friends ? quite a few times. Love the changing speed of the music flow.

asliarun, you guys are lucky to get to go to concerts and stuff..

USA is audio paradise - equipment and music wise..

here we have no such luck.

How i wish i could either go for a Coldplay concert or an Explosions in the sky concert ?

hopefully a few from Mumbai ???

RP - a get together based on common music interest will be fun na ? rather than comparing only equipment....

I really like the first three albums of coldplay. Since then it has been sort of downhill - its still decent music but not a patch to the stuff from rush of blood and parachutes.

Nice to know that there's another Explosions in the sky fan here on hfv. I absolutely adore their music.

I loved their older albums, parachutes in particular. Was not impressed with their recent works, not to mention that the recording quality also seems to be deteriorating. I saw them live in Detroit perhaps 6-7 years ago. It was awesome.
Now that Chris Martin is divorced from Gwyneth Paltrow will there be some soulful separation tracks on the new album?

I love post-rock bands as well. Recently discovered God Is An Astronaut. Very good stuff.

mpw, I only moved a few years ago so this has been my first and only live show. Unfortunately, life also throws in additional challenges. I now have a baby and that has curtailed my live shows severely - arguably even more than being in India/US. I actually quite enjoyed the yearly rock festival in Pune near Koregaon Park (forget its name). Loung Piranha, a Bangalore based post rock band played once and they were very very good.

A few months ago, I was visiting Pune, and heard Siddharth Basrur and his band playing at a local pub - they were so very good!

hey mpw, a big fan of coldplay here...
i am definitely waiting for the new album... not preordered yet...
i simply love the band.... but not so much in love with their last 2 albums...
the first 3 were amazing... have all albums on vinyl...
infact, whenever i change any interconnects or reposition my speakers, the coldplay 'parachutes' is a vinyl i always play...
it just sounds amazing....
i think a coldplay meet is a good idea...

i pre-ordered the Ghost stories on Rhythm House yesterday. This will be my third coldplay on Vinyl after Parachutes and Mylo.

Please PM me your contacts and let me try to get one or 2 folks more interested in a coldplay meet and try to link up.

On their website, sometime back, i had sent them a loooong message with atleast 10 reasons why they need to come to India for a show :lol:.. they wont though.. i know.

u know, i wanted to preorder it with rhythm house, but i really dont know how many copies they will get... i didnt wanna wait for 'more stock coming soon'....

so, i'd rather wait for the release date... and then order from an amazon or elusivedisc..

if u are a coldplay fan.... u must have their first 3 albums on vinyl...
its superb...

i picked up all from rhythm house cause it was easily available that time except XY.... which i got much later from amazon...
