Now that Denon 1611 has been released (31K), is there a chance that you can get good discounts/bargains on 1610 black model ? Do you think it will be sold at a lower price that it was sold earlier ?

Viola, Mumbai had quoted me 23K few weeks back. Since it was over email, I think there would have been some scope for bargain. I did not ask for the color though.

Whats the difference between 1610 & 1611 apart from 3D av surround?
Can 1611 be useful If not have 3D LCD TV ? I have 40" Sony V550.

One major difference between 1610 (75wx5) & 1611 (75wX7) is the former is 5.1 receiver & the latter is a 7.1 receiver. As far as latest audio decoders are concerned,the 1611 covers everything including PLII-Z.

@ Sam - That was a good pick! I was really surprised to see that the 1610 is a 5.1ch AVR whereas the 1609 (presumably the previous model and the one that I've got) is a 7.1ch AVR!! Wonder why Denon did that and now have re-introduced the 7.1 in their AVR-1611

When you compare the weight of these AVRs the 1609 weighs in @11.3kg vs the 1610 weighing 9.3kg (a clear 2kg reduction) which I imagine is the additional 2ch amp circuitary and corresponding reduction in power system to feed them. The 1611 seems to have now upped it to 10.2kg
