Couple of questions:
1] Recently Denon announced a $100 DSX firmware upgrade for 3310 owners. Has anyone tried it out? Was it worth the price? I currently have a 5.1+ Dolby IIz height setup (using KEF speakers). Will DSX sound considerably better? I have two rear speakers that i can reposition as wides for DSX.
2] How did you go about getting the upgrade? For USA customers, you can buy it online. The same option is not available for India - after checking on various Denon sites, it seems you need to call the service center, pay them, give them the amp ID and then they unlock the download for you.
But here is the catch - i called up the denon center in bangalore, and the guy who picked up the phone had NO clue about the DSX upgrade. He wants me to call again in couple of weeks, when his boss is back (apparently he is in the USA currently). that sounded pathetic - only one chap knows what is going on, and that chap is not available! makes me wonder if Denon service center is being run out of some garage.
does anyone have contact details for the denon service center in delhi or mumbai? maybe i will have better luck with them.
