In seeking preamplifier with phono and defeatable tone control I did a little bit research and found out the above brand slim amplifiers can be made to function as one. These are cheap affordable Indian amplifiers and and little tinkering I can make tone control bypassable. These are low power amps usually with TO-3 or T-220 packages. I can just use it as preamp. Anybody owns any of these ?
