Apple I Phone 4G.

If your picking it from the apple store, the pricing is almost equal in all countries. I picked up mine for 30k in the US. In singapore's apple site it is selling at 31k. So I guess there is no much price variation if bought from an apple store directly.

Just that the Aussie $ is going strong(~45INR) at the moment:). US is cheaper, but comes locked.

I believe the colour choice would be dictated by whether your 33K is black or white. No wonder you don't see too many white iPhones:)
Ajay, think you scared Manu with your post. He must be worried now that he can't buy a white iPhone with his black $$$$:D

Retina glass has the advantage of being scratch proof to a large extent. I was tied between Galaxy and iPhone 4. But in the last, the size of iPhone 4 won me over.

Retina is just a type of display but not the glass. The glass actually which is scratch proof is Gorilla glass which is used in almost every high end smart phone these days.

Samsung I9000 Galaxy S would beat Iphone 4 hands down anyday in a feature to feature comparison.

Yes i am very well aware of the features present in Galaxy S as compared to iPhone. It just came down to personal preference since i like portable gaming a lot. The iPhone is more suitable due to the huge number of apps available. By the way planning to get Galaxy S soon for my sister. This way the best phones would be in the family

Thats true, but Singapore is the only country in the world that forbids Sim locking...Assuming that we are looking to use the phone in India, its the best place to buy...

About the Galaxy S, it's a great phone(I have one) with two big flaws:
1) Pathetic battery life (barely lasts the whole day. Guess thats 'cause of the 1gig processor and Super Amoled screen)
2) No flash.
So if anyone intends to get one, shd keep that in mind. I'm soon gonna dump mine when I can get a factory unlocked Iphone 4.

Yeah, it's very stupid in the US to sell locked phones at full price.
The Galaxy S is indeed a very good Smart Phone, with the new v2.2 OS it is pretty fast. But both the iphone 4 and Galaxy S have got their +/-.

One tip for you Galaxy S battery life, change your network options from 3G to 2G (unless you've started to use the 3G facility). Keeping 3G ON consumes a lot of battery.

cheers.

There are lot of flaws even in I9000 Galaxy but its the same about apple. Basically it boils down to personal preference. Since everyone know about the plus points of the Galaxy S I would mention only the negatives-

1.) POOR camera with no flash. Photo quality is disappointing. I sometimes wonder whether my SE W550i with 1.3 MP camera was better?

2.) Phone is not too comfortable to hold and prone to slip out of the hand specially with slippery backplate. Build quality doesn't look strong.

3.) Unacceptable delay in upgrading to Froyo.

Saw the Galaxy I9000 yesterday and got to play with it for a brief 2 minutes. IMO, this is no match for an iPhone 4G. The touch experience of even the Iphone 3G is better than this. Build quality is poor too. Specs look good and the phone was noticeably fast.

OT: I traded my dying Iphone 3G to buy a Blackberry Pearl 9100 yesterday. Missing my Iphone, but enjoying exploring my first BB.

Some interesting points there. Build quality sure is poor and the phone doesnt look that it would withstand drops though it can sometimes. But touch experience is something I have never had a problem with. Infact I have been active over a few android forums after I bought the forum and I have never heard anyone complain about the touch experience. Iphone 4, Galaxy S and HTC desire all seem to have same kind of touch experience if reviews are something to go by.

You are probably right and as a owner, YMMV. I just played with it briefly but my initial impressions were not "Buy me. Now!!".

Dying in like two years? :o
That thing should have costed like $600.
If I ever buy a phone for that much, I would expect it to go on for ever.. :D

BTW, My free Windows Phone 7 is on the way.. Scheduled for early next year soon after indian release.. :D

well my journey in the iphone era started with 2g, then 3g came along and now 4g (still have the earlier two phones running perfectly)
i have used the BB also since 4 years. you cannot compare each other. different phones and different purposes.
all i can say is that once you get hooked on to either or both then its practically impossible to shift out and go to anyone else
