Apple has launched its new streaming service world wide and surprise, surprise! India has been included in the launch party.
I would like to know if any FMs have tried it out. I have taken the 3 months free trial membership. I have been using Spotify free for quite some time and here are my observations regarding Apple Music:
Sound quality is definitely better than Spotify free. Stream bit rate is 256 kps whereas Spotify is 96 kbps.
Apple hasn't specified what codec it's using but media reports it as AAC.
User interface is bit overcrowded but I guess you can get used to over time.
Rs 120 per month seems quite reasonable especially since its 10$ in USA.
You can make your own playlists and the for you section automatically will add artists you prefer.
anyone else tried it out?

I am willing to try even though as a free service Spotify is rock solid. I mean the collection, the audio quality, interface for both web and mobile everything is top quality and as a free subscription I think nothing can beat Spotify.

Anyway coming to Apple Music, how did you purchase the free 3 Month trial. Coz if I click on try now it takes me to itunes download page, so do I have to mandatory download iTunes in order to activate my subscription ??/

I have subscribed. Works very well for the whole family. Virtually unlimited music. Costs about 150/- per month for all the devices.

Cheers.

Yes sam you need to have a Apple account as well as download iTunes to your system to enable the free trail.

Ok did the formalities and took the subscription. Now lets see how good the collection is. Spotify I must say has some of the most rare bollywood songs of the 70s,80s, and 90s. Which was surprising since spotify has not actually made it self available in INdia. let see how good Apple Music is....

You are right, Spotify does seem to be having a good Indian collection and have many listeners in India, using unblockers. It is surprising it hasn't officially started here and Apple and Rdio have stolen a march on them. Guess it has many NRI subscribers!
I do find that Rdio sounds marginally better than Apple. Spotify free does have that low bit rate thinness. I have heard Spotify premium also and feel that Apple sound quality is superior. One problem with Apple is that ITunes takes a longer time to open and start the next track. Anyone else noticed it? Or is it due to to slow internet speed?

does anyone know how to cancel Apple Music subscription. I could not find any such thing under my accounts section in iTunes ..... any help?

Never mind I found it ......
