Apple TV launched in India

There is a big IF there, anyway my point was if you do not have apple products, but still want an Airplay kind of feature .....
Don't think that's a "big if", if the product in question was named "Apple TV" :p

I have an Apple TV3 which I am not using since I have two bluray player with Networks. If any one interested to buy, feel free to PM me!

My Apple TV3 is taken up by FM 'Nikhil'

Awaiting payment & collection. Thanks for every one else who contacted me via PM for showing your interest.

If anyone is interested in an Apple TV3 in Bangalore, please let me know. I bought it in US in December thinking that I will be able to watch the movies from the iTunes store that launched in India. But the selection has been a big disappointment and I have not yet seen a single one. I did stream a couple of youtube videos but that got old pretty quickly and I prefer watching them on my tablet anyway.

Why don't you go ahead and put this up in the "For Sale" section.

Just read this on engadget... XBMC now available for Apple TVs with software update 5.2

In case someone is looking to use XBMC.

I succumbed and picked up the officially launched Apple TV box on saturday in Chennai. Rs. 8300 including tax but with a one year warranty. The airplay feature is a winner for me. I actually bought the WD TV live last month, used it for a day and sold it on ebay so I could pick up the Apple TV. So far so good, the airplay and mirroring functions are just what the doctor ordered for watching You tube, listening to my personal collection, Jango radio etc.

However, I have one problem and was hoping to hear of some good solutions. My setup is based around a Marantz PM6004 stereo receiver paired with Boston Acoustic A25 speakers rather than a AV receiver. So the HDMI cable from the Apple TV goes straight into my TV. To enjoy music streaming, I need to connect the Apple TV optical audio out into my Marantz analog inputs. I have currently done this by using a small powered Digital to analog audio converter priced at Rs. 3500 in Chennai (Yes, please add that as an added cost for all those wanting an analog out from the Apple TV!!). Is this a good solution? Is there a better solution. I see some dedicated DAC components priced at 25 to 35K on hifimart. Is that the only other solution?

I use the same setup at home connecting the Apple TV through Optical Audio to my Denon AVR. I get digital output and is fantastic. I do not see any reasons to move to anything else.

Cheers...

My problem is that I do not have a AVR but a stereo receiver. So i cannot connect using HDMI (that goes to the TV direct) and the amp does not receive Optical audio. I need some sort of conversion/converter.

Best feature is Airplay and mirroring for which I am purchasing to use in India on Sony TV model of 2010.
