ARC gives pcm 2.0 signals..

Hi I have a Panasonic viera tv 2012 model tv , av receiver Yamaha htr 3067. I have MI SMART BOX connected to tv .I tried connecting my tv to receiver through hdmi ARC but the signal received are PCM 2.0. also tried connecting tv through optical cable to receiver, but again getting PCM 2.0 signal.
Only when I connect Mi box directly to receiver ( hdmi) and then av out from receiver to tv then only I get digital Dolby signals 5.1 .
Is something wrong with tv or any settings!!
Any suggestions!!

Does the TV have an ARC enabled HDMI port ?
