Dear All,
I need your suggestions on the following setup I am planning to build at home:
Source: My desktop/laptop computer. This will be in the study room of the apartment.
Target Areas: 2 Bedrooms (2 speakers in each), Pooja Room (1/2 speakers), Living Room (4 speakers) and Kitchen (1/2 speakers)
Wiring: Concealed wiring from the roof (through false ceiling)
My queries:
1. The approximate length for each speaker wire is atleast 10-15 metres. So, will I need an amp for this?
2. If yes, can you suggest a good amp that will suit my purpose. I am looking at a budget not more than Rs. 15,000 for now, as I am planning a seperate HT setup for the TV in the living room, at a later date. The current planned setup is just to be able to listen to good clean music from my harddrives.
3. What are the best suggested cables (brands and configurations) for this purpose? I am from Hyd. Any suggestion on the stores that stock these cables?
4. Since the source is one and the targets are 5, I have a peculiar situation. It is not necessary that at any point I have to listen to music in only one room. It could be possible that I want the same music to play in 1 or more rooms. For this, I need a splitter jack, that can split the single source to about 5 targets, thus allowing me to plug the input into any of the outputs. I am planning to have a box on the wall, which will have 5 AV ports, one for each of the room. The splitter will plug into one or more of these ports, thus ensuring that the music is played in one or more of the rooms.
Any help from you is appreciated in this regard.
~ Regards,
Praveen
