AVR: Protecting terminals against Weather

Hi,

I have a AVR and I intend to protect its unused terminals from turning black / corroded by putting dummy RCA / HDMI /etc. plugs on them. Since I live in Mumbai, terminals turns blackish / dirty within few months.
I would like to know how other FM cope up with such a problem. Please share your experience.
