Bad service by tatasky

Hello gurus,

First of all thanks a lot for all the help that this forum provides...
Thanks to all the helpful members too...

Here is my problem


1) I have ordered for a tatskyHd box on 3rd June 2011.The person told me that your Hd box will be delivered within 3-7 days..In the mean time somebody will contact you.
But till date ie 14June 2011 nobody has contacted me..I have made numerous calls to Tatasky and spoke to their so called senior executives but got only false assurance... :mad::mad:

Who else can I complain??I mean how do I reach the higher authorities??

2) Also if I buy tatskyHd box on my own then can I install it myself??? I have an existing tatsky stb(normal one)
As far as I know I just need to connect the wire from the dish to new stb and remove the card from old stb and put it in new stb..And ofcourse connect via HDMI cable..Am I right??

Is there anything else to be done like call the tatasky and inform them about my new stb ???

buddy in which do u live, give ur stste name and i will give u the nodal office number who will solve ur issue, ur issue might b getting delayed due to unavailability of hd plud box for ur area office which installs the box

also buddy as u have already ordered hd plus stb and now u r thinking of buying it urself, i would say either wait for stb to come or if u have decided to buy it urself then b sure u have one box and book it from the shop and cancel the order u have given to tata sky as else it will also come. secondly no for tata sky plus hd two wires r required ,one for recording and other for viewing so a extra wire will b installed and also viewing card needs to b pairred with ur new stb which will done by area team when installing the box. if u havenormal tv u can connect stb with either av or component cable, if having lcd tv connect with hdmi. when u have brought the box, call cust care to install the stb

2---I have ordered for just HD...NOT HD+ ..ie I don't want to record anything..


3---The order that I have placed is Post paid and when I called tatasky to cancel,they said that just reject the delivery ...

You cannot do it on ur own since the card and new digicom need to be pared that can be done by only TS guys. i have also ordered TS in month of may and i recd in two days. the delay should be at the sub dealer level which from ur area. talk to TS and ask for local dealer no and follow up that dealer.

bhai its my pleasure to help u, no need to thank me for it, i take it as my responsibility in this life to help all. well regarding ur issue here is the number of mumbai nodal office, u can dial it from 9 am to 6pm , mon to sat . give them ur booking number and the concern .also give them complain numbers if u have registered complains regarding delay

Actually there is a slight mistake...the number is 020-60001771...Btw thnx a lot for helping..I have called nodal officer and he said that tatasky will contact you on 10-15 min...lets see what happens...
 
I too ordered a TS HD using IVR and had to call their customer service 3 times before it was delivered to me. It was 2 weeks after my request. I didn't need to contact nodal officer, the CC fellows were smart enough to handle that :).

Lucky you bro!!! But in my case all cc did was false promise..I don't understand why they lie straightaway..For instance.One senior executive says that it will be delivered tomorrow in morning(friday 10th june)..Then One says don't know whats the matter..we will call you in 10 mins...But no call comes...Again when I called on (11th June Sat) cc says plz give us 24 hrs to check the matter..

I just hate this string of lies..If you have any genuine problem then plz mention it..Why do you want to lie??

This " two wires" is no longer necessary for TS now. The installation engineer just adds a " splitter": at least, that is what they have done at my house.
 
I am not surprised, whne TS guys said they will not sell the hd box in kerala , i bought one from bangalore and installed it myself( connected to old TS cable) and the box worked.
I got the channel 100 and when i asked them to activate the hd channels they keep telling me the engineer need to visit and "install it" after numerous calls to cc , cc guy's supervisors, emails and calls to nodal officer and a week later i got the number for the service engineer.

The service guy never called me or picked up the phone and after two days i used skype to call him , he must have seen the unknown number in his mobile and picked up.
He now agreed no visit required and activated within a hour

i am keeping rdtv because still the time taken for the complaint register and assigning engineer for the job in for me is more than a week

Natgeo HD and Discovery HD don't show the same programmes as normal Natgeo and Discovery..But neva mind

Glad you got it finally. I had to struggle like you as well with repeated failed commitment tons of times.

Nat Geo HD and Discovery HD World will never have same programming as their SD variant and most of the programs in them are repetitive. Infact only Star Plus HD has similar programming.

Also, you would observe some terrible PSEUDO 5.1 sound with changing volume and DRC in Discovery HD and Ten Cricket HD. I would encourage you to complain about this to TS for them to get away from this audio processing in HD channels and most of the SD channels.
 
Well my experience is just the opposite-
After hearing so many people on all the forums finally thought what the heck,let me get the TS HD and see what its all about.
Marvellous decision!
First of all am awlays impressed by tata sky CC people. I bought it on friday and asked dealer to ask tata people to come on monday for installation when am home. However i was available on sunday so called CC at 11pm on sat to see if someone can come and do the installation on sunday(had no hopes but still tried). He said i will try and make request a priority.

Sunday-9am- call from unknown number- its TS installation guy asking for directions. 15 mins he is at home. 30 mins installation done on both tvs and Voila i can watch HD for whole day :)

Initial impressions- Star movies HD is a killer!! And all other are good but somehow i felt Ten cricket HD showing India's matches wasn't too impressive.

Is it me or someone has observed that SD picture quality is alsi better in HD box than the normal TS box which i had earlier.

All in all- excellent buy!
 
Even I got my TS HD+ connection within 4 hrs in Pune. I ordered at 11:00AM and ~2:30PM everything was up and running.
