Hi

I am trying to figure out a trip with my pre- power for an audition.

Train travel would be easy but a one hour audition becomes a three day affair. So was looking at easier options.

I have to carry this 12 kg lump of Schiit (
Power Consumption: 700W maximum Size: 9” x 13” x 3.875”Weight: 22 lbs). It fits easily into a carry-on but will of course exceed the weight restrictions.

i don't have any hardshell luggage.

is it possible to rent something like a pelican case ? Then I suppose the worst that the baggage handlers do might still leave me with an unbruised and working amp. Or are there alternates that would reliably work.

(I am in Hyderabad)

Ciao

Pelican cases are much more likely to get stolen than regular suitcases. Best would be to borrow an oversized hard shell suitcase and use lots of padding inside. Put a fragile tag in it

There is no need for a hard shell bag in my opinion. Key is packing the bag tight, soft or hard is not so important.
Pack tightly with clothing and bubble wrap. I've done this a few times with soft luggage with no damage.
Yes, the fragile tag is highly advisable. I've seen these day fragile tagged bags seem to be handled separately.
