Hey Guys
Am commencing this thread to share with all what is arguably the best VFM portable audio system in the world. No brand name, no specifications, so please don't ask me about that. Just a small write-up and some pics here.

Well thats the JXD-2000 mp3 player with:-
*USB port for pen drive
*Memory card slot
*FM radio
*Chargeable nokia bl5c battery
*About 1.5 wpc (hearing is believing)
*Remote control
*Clean but not inadequately loud sound(adequate for solo portable kitchen and bathroom listening)
*Unbelievable sound for its price
*Compatibilty with any nokia (small pin) charger
*Carry around convenience
*1.5 to 2 hrs battery life on full volume(no distortion)
*MDF cabinet
*Two miniature full range drivers

Alarmingly inexpensive at INR 500 only

Your comments, queries and views are welcome. Forum members are requested to share their experiences on similar VFM components.

Its probably made in China as I got it from the airport more market in Siliguri, W Bengal.

good option for people looking for seperate music in kitchen and some portable audio and good deal for that price.... anyone who's selling it ??

any link..

Hi Trittiya

Really very interesting!!! How does it compare to a 10 lacs system? I am looking for a system for the mouse den in my house and my choice is torn between the two. :)
I ask because you have omitted to mention the nature of SQ. So how is the SQ??!!

My mouse will kill me if the SQ turns out to be bad so please reply!

--G

your mouse may rest assured as the SQ is fairly good but do keep in mind that it is for private, nearfield, no fuss listening. At half a grand it makes good sense. The best part is near zero distortion at full volume. Its available under various chinese names in Ghaffar mkt, karol bagh, delhi. Theres few models in plastic too. Prefer the mdf cabinets personally, though.
Regards

We last saw fm radios 6-7 yrs back for rs 40/- including a dry cell aa size , in ear headphones, automatic tuning and preset memory.
We now have a device with usb port, cell phone battery, medium size speakers and lcd screen.
Both devices were only possible due to dirt cheap manufacturing costs of ic/pcb and stuff.
Wasn t entirely impossible nevertheless appreciable feat this.

save your ears from this 'music system'...

children n wives will like it for sure , china sells in kg basis

one song i remember that describes this[referring to the hardware] "gali gali main firta hai ... " meaning why r u roaming in byways ,many local shopkeepers keep it for music

I tend to disagree there. I possess a pair of ears that are paid to hear things which others cant, so they are very precious to me, many a times its my ears or my team members ears that have saved our lives in operations. What I m trying to say is that I have a reasonably capable pr of ears and I value them one hell of a lot. We are talking and sharing knowledge about the VFM factor of the hardware here. I suggest we dwell on that.

hmm...i clearly added "referring to the hardware" , you have been puzzled by my comments it seems. at hifivision we discuss and learn things ...we spend money wisely so that make us happy , it is as simple as that!
once i was excited by cheapo china items... used to find 'good sounding' radios in 30 -50Rs wanted best av cables for 30Rs pair .... also speaker wires for 20/meter

finally i realized the china kg sale items were worst buys ...and developed power to figure out VFM items .The moment we talk about value first thing we consider is
how well the product doing out of the league .
Assuming that you have some passion about quality , just tell me where will you play music with your item ?
In your room / among friends /rail /bus /picnic ... childrens room[may be!]

AV enthu. guy here in HFV most likely not get excited by ordinary product that very ordinary people keep for daily use.

yes not all cheap china goods are bad .. i do purchase real VFM stuff like tripath /dacs
even RCAs

Yeah I guess you are right but then I'd bought two of these, one for the wife to be used in the kitchen/laundry and the second for my man friday and I keep listening to and checking both. To reinforce your pt, chargers of both have failed as they were lousy in quality and are being charged with nokia chargers now. My pt is that the SQ is surprising for 500 bob or else I would not have commenced this thread. Very pleasing to the ears for easy listening on the go. And about the 'awaara' bit too, allow me to concede by saying that a friend of mine who got this admits that this box has made him a "bhaiyya"(local punjabi parlance for labour from eastern UP/Bihar, once known for carrying their transistor radios ubiquitously). So, Thats that, no offence meant/taken.

Now about the tripaths/dacs, do you get kits or readymade components? Need your help on this. Is it possible to have one preamp and/or dac connected to two 2020 monoblock power amps with a provision of two pr spkr connectors on each so that both can be connected to two prs of hi sensitivity drivers mounted in an open baffle? Looking forward to your advice on this. As regards RCA, are you referring to connectors? If so, may i suggest MX audio products for all connectivity issues. Great product range for all pockets but buy only from an auth wholesaler and you may get upto 60 % of mrp on certain items. See I ll tell you what baabal soni, the auth wholesaler in delhi does, I m sure the song remains the same, all over. He sells every thing at wholesale prices, so its not really a discount. His terms are no discount, no return and no exchange either. Forget about the mx showrooms, go ask for the price of 4-5 products in blore and the do the same with baabal soni in delhi at 09811097888/ 09811097878/01123866539.
BTW, they have come up with a 2way/3way floorstander for about 40k, though its not on their site. Their quality control is very apparently stringent, IMO much better than any blind chinese purchase.
Hope this helps.
See, I dont believe in these juvenile secrecy 'efforts'. If I come across something good, I believe in sharing it with forum people on the simple premise that
"khabar & khushi baantne se badti hai"
(info and happiness increase when shared)

Whats the point of being on a forum like this if one has to play cloak and dagger games? People need to grow up, apparently.

Now about why 2 speaker connections from same source..??? diagram?

Firstly no diagrams as of now but the answer is that i want to bi-amp after eliminating crossovers, so both the speakers in one baffle will be full rangers, one a smaller 6" one for the mids and highs and a 12"/15'' FR for the lows. Viren bakhshi of lyrita has done something similar here but only the top spkr is open baffled, he's made a rear ported bass enclosure for the FR woofer due to popular demand. I dont want any cabinet to colour the sound that way.

The rest here follows from what i had posted on FM parora's thread for his benefit
here it is
bi-wiring and biamping is done only with spkrs with four teminals on rear
two black two red
one black and one red usually marked H goes to tweeter for hi freq
2nd black n red usually marked L goes to tweeter for lo freq
when used in normal mode(one pr wires),jumpers or cables connect
black to black and red to red
so it is the crossover inside which separates the freq sendin hi to tweeter
and lo to bass/ mid bass drivers.
DONT EVER FORGET TO REMOVE JUMPERS BEFORE BIWIRING/BIAMPING
AND DONT FORGET TO PUT THEM BACK ON FOR NORMAL MODE

now when u biwire
u use two pr wires
two black two red
both blacks connected to single black of amp
both reds connected to single red of amp
NOW one black each to both blacks behind spkr
ditto for reds
thats it thats biwired
to me it doesnt make technical or acoustic sense but bi-amping is a diff thing
it really makes a diff
ideally for this u need two monobloc power amps both connected to a pre amp
with two cables each
so preamp has 4 cables out one black one red say to each mono which provides only one channel each ie left n right
the preamp is connected to your sources say a deck, dvd player and ps3 and a turntable too.
so now u select say dvd
the pre amp feed the sig to each mono lt and rt
then u can bi amp in 2 ways
either use 1 mono for each spkr
or
use one mono for hi freq black n red behind each spkr
and 2nd mono for lo freq black n red behind each spkr

thts called vertical or horizontal biamping as the case maybe

opinions differ
i prefer the one mone each for hi and lo approach
its very subjective really
but read these too
Bi-Amping: Pleasure or Pain?
and later much later
this
BiAmp (Bi-Amplification - Not Quite Magic, But Close) - Part 1

oh yeah the amps we normally use are called integrated amps wherein the same casing houses both the pre and power amp sections
bi-amping can be done with 2 integrateds too
but at least one of them
(if diff power then lower power wala to tweeter n higher to woofer)
must have pre outs pr at rear
to go to 2nd amp
regardless of wattage both shud be same brand only wattage level different
if both same wattage then obviously both wud have pre outs but u will one preouts only of one by connecting it to second
hope this helps

Hey,
I had purchased this similar set in SP Road Bangalore for Rs.350/-. It is a china made with no brand on it. The texture wood finishing on it is awesome and sounds too good. The only drawback i see in this is remote sensor not very sharp and you can't search the folders.

Why did I buy this?
I have a 8 months old kid and usually kids like listening to sounds, I used to get lots of toys with different sound, rhymes, etc which burns my pocket (you know today the price of kids stuff). Then I saw this player playing in a nearby darshani hotel, checked with him got it one.

I had inserted a SD card (extra) with all rhymes loaded, so my kid enjoys listening to it, kicking it, touching it, etc. I am not worried that it breaks, it is ok for 350/-.

Also batteries are the bigger worries for toys, but this is rechargeable.

Actually you can think this as a first birthday gift to kids with rhymes loaded.

yes it may do better in 500..but probably will die soon

So far, So good!!:ohyeah:
(Amen! & Fingers still X-ed, though):p

Both the pieces are still going strong after a year and a half,:yahoo: including the rechargeable BL5C mob phone batteries.

Believe me, guys, when I say that its been full "paisa vasool"(getting one's money's worth) all the way, what with the wife and the Man Friday using it extensively, day in and day out.:ohyeah:

Not bad for 500 bob per piece, Huh?;)

I bought a similar one for Rs.400/- few months back and gifted it to -100% audiophile in a place with lots of power shutdown. They are way too happy with the gift.

So what can the SQ be compared to? Tiny desktop speakers in price range ...?

I saw one of these players in Linking Road, Mumbai. The seller was asking for 300 bucks and for that price it is total paisa vasool. The sound quality was also not too bad.

USP of these speakers lies in portability. You can carry one on travel if you hate headphones. Sound quality is surprisingly good for the money. At least it plays in the same league as gazillions of alarm radios from Sony/LG/Coby of this world which cost 1000-5000.

I had bought one on experimental basis considering it as "use and throw" item, but decided to keep it due to the sound quality being more than good for the money. It was surprisingly clear. 100 folds cleaner, louder and overall better sounding than any laptop speaker out there, including the Macs and celebrated Altec Lansing/Harman Kardon speaker equipped laptops.

--G0bble

Sound quality can be compared to some desktop speakers used with PC/Laptops.

I bought this for portability and even more for the batter backup in it.

Now If I will buy it for my personal use, the answer will be no, and the reason

1) Many of these players always start from the first song in the attached stored and no provision to browse the folder to play songs
2) Some of them start to play from wherever the last time it was stopped. May be if battery dries out it wont remember last played song (Did not have it for long enough to test these things)
3) Some of the models have shuffle but most of the times they sort in the same order. So one will have to exactly listen in same order (like it was shuffled last time)
4) With 100 songs in external storage, whenever it is played, if the same song will begin we need skip until we reach a new song.

Once again about SQ, I listened to nearly 5 different items like this and each one varied to a huge extent. My selection that time was not based on SQ but the one more practical to use

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
