Best speakers under 10k

First of all, i found a similar post that was two years old, so i wanted a fresh perspective, hence this post.
The best sounding option so far to me is Altec Lansing MX 6021.
Any better option i should be looking at.
My primary use will be music, specifically trance. And primary criteria will be bass and high sound .

Looking at the budget I could think of WHARFEDALE DIAMOND 10.0. They are around 11k/pair. I haven't heard Altec Lansing before but got a chance to hear the Wharfs. If you can extend the budget a bit more you can go for 10.1. It will cost you around 16k/pair. But let me tell you, 10.1s are far better than 10.0s and worth that 5k difference.
Anyway, Wharfdale bookshelves are not good for bass, so you'll definitely need a subwoofer.

Altec lansing is a passive speaker and doesn't need an amplifier unlike Wharfedale 10.0 which will need a power/integrated amp of at least 15W pc output.

I've used MX6021 for almost a year, I feel if you use uncompressed audio files, fed through a good DAC like iPod then it'll serve your purpose at around 6-7k.

Wharfedale Diamond 10.0: 10-11k
Pioneer SP21BS: 8k-10k (rave reviews for this speaker)

The best PC speaker for music was Altec Lansing MX5021 under 10k but now it has been discontinued. The best speaker speaker under 10k is only Swans M10 currently. Here it is: Overview of M10 Multimedia_HiVi,Inc

It rivals Altec Lansing MX5021 in sound quality and some said that it is even better.

Forget the nuforce DAC if you dont need it. Best stuff you can get for 12k
