What is the difference between "Line" and "Pixel" - Are they same , Kindly define.

Scan line is one line, or row of lines, in a video line produced on a cathode ray tube (CRT). Scan lines are important in representations of image data, but in true technical terms these dots are different from the modern day pixels. The display becomes more clear when there are more colored lines per inch. The number of colored line per inch is directly proportional to the resolution.

Pixel is the smallest discrete component of an image or picture on a CRT screen, greater the number of pixels per inch the greater the resolution

PAL CRT television has a total of 525 horizontal scan lines, it only uses about 480 of these for the actual image. There are 720 pixels in each interlaced scan line this forms the image.

HDTV can resolve finer details and hold smoother curves. Plus, you get considerably more pixels to look at HDTV has a total of 1,125 scan lines, but it only uses 1,080 of these for the actual image There are 1,920 pixels in each interlaced scan line.
