Hi Folks,
I am looking for a pair of book shelf speakers which will be powered by Yamaha RXV 450 amp. The max i can push is 15 to 17 K for a pair of speakers.

Music type - Unplugged / R&B / Soul

Volume preference - Normal to low than normal

Size of Room - 6*8*11(l*b*h). In case you are wondering yes the roof is 11 feet old time structure. Receiver placed in Corner and i have room for just 2 book shelf speaker. In my budget are there a speaker available? Please let me know.

Thanks in advance,
TNR

Hi All,
Yesterday i check out Bose 301, Wharfdale 9.1 / 9.2/ 10.1 and Jamo.

Bose 301 - Had a good thump decent midrange clarity and little sorround effect because of their direct reflecting tech.

Wharfdale 901 - Cost 12k clear mid range but low on low frequency

Wharfdale 901 - Cost around 17k good crisp mid range and slighty better low frequncy.

I am novice so i am guessing thats why diamond 9.1 and Jamo C series sounded the same. Also bose was driven by Denon amp, Wharfdale driven by basic custom built amp in straight mode.

I am keen on wharfdale 9.2, any better options that i should i try for 17k?

There are many choices between 15 - 20k budget.. Do take your time to audition as many as you can and buy.... Do not rush.....

Some more list you can audition :

Tannoy F1
MS AVINO -2
PSB Alpha / Image bookshelf
Paradigm Atom/Titan monitors
Usher S520

try mordaunt short aviano 2 @ 19k!.supposedly too good!.and wats with the two wharf 901 priced differently?!!!901??????????

TNR,

The King of Bookshelves in that price range IMHO is the PSB Alpha B1....!!!

I ve not come across any bookshelf speaker in that price range which has got more rave reviews, recommendations, & best buy suggestions than the B1.

I've heard pretty much every speaker out there in that price range and the B1 will cream all the other speakers. Again that's my personal opinion.

Go and hear them out... Your dilemma will be over in 10-15 mins...!!!

Best of luck.... :)

Hi... I am 100% sure that 17K is the MRP. Generally 10% discount is given by most of the dealers. So, 17 less 10% is 15.3K. You will get it for 15K for sure. In case if you are not getting it for 15K, please send me a PM. I'll help you out.

The 9.2s are very good bookshelf speakers. It's a 100% Value-for-money speakers. The performance of 9.2s are pretty decent across all the three frequencies (higi-mid-low). In case if you need a little more depth & punch on the lows' later on add a SW-150 subwoofer to these speakers ... A great combo :)

Cheers
