Bookshelf speakers for Onkyo 3300/3400 for stereo

Hi,

Currently, I use onkyo 3300 for both movies and music, with the speakers that came along with it in the box.
Actually, I hardly watch videos and that means my AVR is used for stereo.
The speakers are really bad for music and am planning to buy a pair of bookshelves (max. budget of 20K, new or used). Currently I am not planning to buy another amp for stereo, hence have to live with this amp. for now.

Onkyo AVR Users (specifically 3300/3400 users), please suggest a good pair of speakers in this range.
I listen to the regional film music most often and I find 3300 is bright with the speakers that came with it.
I like warm/neutral speakers. Suggest me something that suits my taste, for this amp.

Hi,

I have connected 'Paradigm Titan Monitors' to my ONKYO (AVR) for trial. The sound on 'B' speakers postion is very good. The ONKYO AVR realy delivers very good sound. For realy good sound you could select any 'Bookshelfs' within your budget. Pls follow different posts for lates price threads. Though I would suggest you to push your budget up to 26K and get PSB Image Bookshelf pair.

I have used Tanooy speakers with Onkyo & it works well.even try Q acoustic speakers too.

I'm also in the same boat, but have stuck to headphones for music till finances improve. My budget for bookshelves is under 15k.

Planning to try the Cambridge Audio S30. Any pointers to where I could find them in Mumbai?

Try the Wharfedale diamond 9 series, mordaunt short aviano, both are quite warm speakers.........you should find something you like in your budget. Onkyo AVRs might be a bit on the brighter side compared to denon or marantz, so getting a warmer speaker might help. But everything depends on how you like the sound so please demo as many speakers as you can and then decide. Remember please do not pair a bright AVR with bright speakers!!!
