Will be going for audition some time next week.
I agree my ears will be the best judge but still needed some models in mind for reference.
Also, I haven't yet got the AVR but definitely will.
I cant go for FS due to space constraints.
I can stretch my budget to atmost 60K if the difference in quality is huge :)

you can have a look at the wharfedale speakers in the group buy section. wharfedale generally pairs well with yamaha.

Yup..I went through that..it is Wharfedale 10.1.
Good, I got one then
How does it compare to Polk RTi A3?
Also, any idea where in mumbai I can audition the Wharfedales?

Help me decide between:

Wharfedale -
Bookshelves - Diamond 10.2
Center - Diamond 10 CS
Sub - Diamond SW 150

and

Polk -
Bookshelves - RTi A3
Center - CSi A4
Sub - PSW 110

Afaik ,wharfedale are better than polks for music and movies.if ur preference more towards movies then you can go for polk.

You can also check Tannoy Mercury series, they are also very good set of speakers. Good for both movies and music, they are not harsh on ears.
For Sub you can go for Velodyne.

Thanks for the response guys..

My usage is around 60% music and 40% movies.
So, the general trend for this seems to be Wharfedale. I'll see if can find a store to audition them, same for Tannoy.

guys, The Wharfedale package mentiond above is exctaly wat i have in mind right now form the group buy. I would like to know which AVR will do best for the same package.

Auditioned the Wharfedale 10.2, was disappointed with the SQ.
Cant describe exactly but sounded flat and....should I say, boomy?
Any other suggestions?

@yahoo0212 - Hmm...but I really like the Yamaha V671.
Does the Denon 1611 have network and USB?

No the denon has neither the USB nor the network port.
If u found the bass to be boomy in WD 10.2ss.........Then I can suggest audition the MS Aviano s 2... Reall good at producing bass....

Please recommend some music choice to test high, mid and low frequencies.
