Bought Sammy LA32A550

Its my First Post and I want to thank this forum for providing very very useful information :thumbsup:.
I was following this section from last 15 days and it helped me in deciding which LCD to buy and what could be the best price.

Finally I have bought Samsung LA32A550 :yahoo:.
I got it in 38500 bucks from "Griah Vaibhava", Bangalore.
along with this i got LG HDMI 1.5m cable in 900 bucks.
So in total i spent 39400 for LCD TV and HDMI Cable, i felt like good deal in non-festival season :cheers:.

i am very happy with my Sammy. yesterday i watched "The Specialist" by connecting my Laptop (HDMI Connection).

Please suggest me regarding the initial usage of LCD and how to do maintenance of LCD.

Congrats on your choice and great deal...I got the same TV a few months back and am extremely happy. No maintenance required...just a regular dust off

To check firmware u have to probably get into service menu which is not advisable...theres a cleaner that comes with the TV...have been using that.

My LCD LA32A550 originally supported mp3 playing and picture viewing from USB port.
The latest Samsung series 5 LCDs support mp3,Divx ,photos from USB stoage.

Is it possible to upgrade firmware or software so that i can also view DIVX movies on this TV.

I do not think it is possible, instead of playing with TV firmware get an entry level media player.

I do have laptop on which i can watch any format of movies.
As well as i can connect my laptop to LCD with HDMI cable.

I just wanted to know; is there any possibility to directly plugin my USB thumb or harddisk....so that i can watch divx movies on LCD.

No, i guess its a hardware issue. You will need external decoders like laptop or media players.
