Now that I have integrated, with all your help, the Boulder 866 into my HT system, I was wondering if I could plug it in through a UPS instead of the wall outlet. I already have my Synology DS916+ connected to the UPS, so would 866 be an overload?

I own this UPS https://apc.estorewale.com/product/apc-smart-ups-750va-sua750i-in/

Any help will be appreciated.
I wouldn't bother for a UPS since we reside in Bombay. However you could look for a Conditioner from Audioquest, Furutech as that will have surge protection if you want some safe side to your av equipment.

That's one he'll of a amp you have there :D

Not to mention, very expensive too. I can see that amp direct to wall is the popular recommendation. And it makes sense, as amps have the power gremlin filtration in built. But having blown a 17k amp in front of me, during a lightning strike. I would still recommend some kind of power protection.

Most welcome. Let me place some points in favour of using an APC.

The power you get in your wall outlets is affected by the neighboring households (in an apartment complex). Some sort of isolation should be in place to filter out the inherent noise and disturbance. Look up product offerings from Environmental Potentials.

With something like an APC Smart UPS in place you have a reasonably good protection for your setup for the price. You get about an hour of backup in case you lose power. With the double conversion you get a regenerated sine wave that offers relatively clean power. An interesting bonus is that we get consistent sound quality as opposed to waiting for night time listening etc. for the best sound.

Hope this helps. All the best with your search.
