Team,

My Bryston BDA-1 DAC gone off during working through USB input selection from Laptop.

Opened and found 250mA fuse mounted on the PCB was blown.

Couldn't find a 250mA replacement fuse in the nearby store and sourcing is underway.

FELLOW MEMEBRS,

any inputs or advices regarding this issue and any authorised BRYSTON SERVICE CENTER in India.

Most of the big electronic stores have 250 mA fuses. If you can't find it in the store, check Amazon. A pack of 7 fuses is under 100 rs.

Able to get replacement fuse rated 100ma and 250ma

Installed 100ma, fuse blown

Installed 250ma, blown again

Contacted bryston support and diverted to cinemera/cinebells

Upon mailing cinemera/cinebells, looks like they are not interested in out of warranty repairs

Internet is saying timesaudio gudugav and Hyderabad is the service dealers

Spoke to Hyderabad team and they asked to send

Folks, Any inputs about capability of Timesaudio Hyderabad

It seems like a short circuit on the power rails. If it's out of warranty, then sending it to Hyderabad is not a good idea in my opinion. I have seen in some threads some people mentioned a very expert local technician in Kochi, but I don't remember which thread. I know a guy in Trivandrum; he serviced my NAD amplifier a year ago. He seems like a knowledgeable guy, but I don't know if he repairs DACs. If you want, I can ask him. But the technician in Kochi is better known; if someone knows his contact number, they can mention it.
