Building My First True Audiophile-Grade Custom 2-Way Bookshelf Speaker System – Modular, Bi-Amplified & Active Crossover

If your idea of audiophile attributes starts or ends with high cost, then you can happily avoid my post.

When I was building my 3 way, during research I stumbled upon them. The prices were stunning. And to be honest I even thought there was some mistake in pricing data published. Their specs look good too. As an Indian I was also convinced that I should support them. But I chickened out. I had to make a practical choice. Personally I have no time and I had one shot in doing this. The fact that the cabinet making cost and the cost of the crossover components are going to be multiple X over their driver's cost. The cabinet was going to be made exactly to volume specs derived for the driver. The crossover components had to be chosen specifically for cutoffs for these drivers. The fear that if the drivers were not good enough, my entire investment (and time) on the more expensive components go waste made me not choose them.

It's not their quality, it was my decision to reduce my risk.

The logical question is if they provide specs (which are good), why not just trust it? The problem is that of social proof. Unfortunately I could not get any information about these drivers from the internet. No mentions in any DIY project or experiences in forums. I honestly wish there was enough social proof for them. Anyways we DIY'rs are a minuscule lot in India and they can't operate the way they do business for us. I am sure they are doing well in the OEM space. I honestly wish they are successful.

Regards,
Arun

I am happy and twice actually, that there drivers are working well. I am on my design path to make the 3rd one.
The technical manager at least in whatsapp has confirmed that their published specs are correct.
What more can I ask for?
I didn't wait for social support/confirmation. I didn't wait earlier too when I tried with Ahuja wide bander 12 inch and LF 15 inches. I am still enjoying them.
I am happy I jumped without the safety net! Their low cost was my safety net if we think it the other way.

Another good driver (Indian) that I have tried and happy with are Grandale 17E.

Can you suggest me some good alternatives for the drivers. I cannot find any trusted brand whose tech spec sheet i can follow like this ine i am attaching here @yogibear
In my opinion you should go in for open source kits from SB Acoustics incase you have urge to do the wood working part. The cross-over and drivers are proven ones and it will be very difficult for you to go wrong this way.
Audiofy in India also make the cabinet part and hence you have the option to get an assembled without spending a fortune.
Since you are planning to go active, you also have the option to opt for professional drivers like Beyma or FaitalPro. You can opt for Coaxial drivers of 12 inch or 15 inch and let the active crossover do the rest. Since all the coaxial speaker units are pretty much popular, you can have crossover point info from the internet. Also Beyma or FaitalPro or B&C speaker website have box plans which you can use.
Drivers for home audio are pretty much limited in dynamics and power handling. FaitalPro or Beyma coaxial can give you the big soundstage perception in home audio also.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
