Can someone help in Bangkok !!!!

Something really bad about most Indians .... they search frantically for Indian food ala dal-roti, vada sambhar, dal-bhaat etc etc whenever offshore. WHY??

Why not the local cuisines available there? Agreed, non-veg is dominant, but a little enterprise and spadework would also land you up with wholesome veg stuff. Believe me, you shan't go down with an upset stomach as the Indian anatomy can take far higher abuse as it is 'used-to' fending for high oil, high spice diet .....

Bar girls too are veg stuff as long you do not go for ... F & S .. :-)

Hay avidyarthy, whats "really bad" about most indian if they look for the association of Indians and Indian food abroad?

Vidya is insisting when we go abroad try to improve the economy of only local people...:D in food expenses too.. Isn't buddy?

However there is a chance we get if we visit to other countries to taste the food which were really prepared there. Or else we have to knock the door locally in india(respective cities) where their restaurants were situated, which we normally do.

However looking for vegetarian restaurants is mainly because the waiters & owners don't know English. On my visit to Phuket in an cruise trip i ordered veg meals and they have given only majority of Leaves fried in Oil as veg. food. + rice too + annexed dhal like sambar were non.veg..

Hello All,

There are gentle-man, they still do exist, and i found one of them in Bangkok.

Ravin is a 3rd generation Indian settled in Bangkok, speaks more Thai than Hindi, but true to the spirit for a country-man, has a heart of gold( of course Indian). You can take an Indian out of India, but not India out of an Indian, what better example than this !

Oye! What is a good boy like Ravin doing in Bangkok? We only export bad onions as a rule. :)

As for "bad" eating habits of Indiyans one only has to try finding veg food abroad before one direly realizes need for Indian cooking! As rightly commented by a phellow phorum member (A gentleman no doubt!)

We Indiyans are like that only!! :ohyeah:
What to do?!! :D

and then in Bangok we Indiyans order F&S without meals only. We are veg for meals only. But we wear leather belts and leather shoes and talk non-veg every day after religious ceremonies

Cheers

...... only talk? .... hmmmm.
Thought some people hit the net to ........ on a 24 x 7 basis to zero down on the goodies .... errr .... I mean, AVRs, speakers and what not!

I get the call from this very helpful guy Ravin, a fellow forum member, and he was willing to cover miles to help me (he lived in the outskirts of the city, and I was almost in center).

To cut the long story short, finally with his help I was able to buy the AVR

he took me to an Indian restaurant which has Jain food on offer (Yes ! in Bangkok !), and being a vegetarian, that was my first time in Bangkok, when I felt at home.

I had planned a bangkok trip and written to him.

he sent a detailed helping reply with all tips and his phone no.

Kudos to you Ravin. My heart goes for you.:clapping:

Thats because, they don't want to end up eating "Basut" Hope the spelling is right here.

From the posts, I wonder why so many forum members frequent Bangkok. Not because of the AVR, but its Always Very "Relaxing" to be in Bangkok.
