Saw Canon offerring EoS 600D plus 18-55mm and 55-250mm lens for 41K. Looks like an interesting offer to me (new to DSLR world) but wanted to check out for views of expert forum members. Also are there any corresponding offers in Nikon..Would Nikon D 5200 be better though I think thats almost 10K more expensive unless they have a similar offer.

You can go for the same its a good piece of equipment. I am using 650D and its an awesome Camera with the same set of lenses got for 60K. Also bought a 50mm lense later on for 8k to add to the same.

So its a tried and test model, go for the same.

if you are beginner , get the bargain price of 600d.. but 41k seems bit high on side.. my friend got it for around 37k for all bundles in tamil nadu.. any way check the price again..

you need not worry about nikon 5200.. you will not find any quality differences in normal photographs.. you may find slight colour variations on very close inspections only.this will not be a problem..

dont invest high..

canon is best in my opinion for this price point..

both the lenses are very nice and more than enough for most of the purposes..

this model is bit old , but this will not be a problem and have more than enough pixels.. so buy with confidence

Be sure the bundled lenses are with Image Stabilization (IS) cause normally with the bundle they are giving only without IS. This is a great feature especially when it comes to 55-250.

Hi,

If u willing to spend 41k on 600D i would strongly advice you to get Nikon D5200, its not running any offers u will find it online for around 39-40K, But u wont get the extra lense here but you are getting far better Camera in price...
I am not Going in for details here but 5200 would be better investment in that price range...

Some one recommended I should go for Canon 60D body and then add the lens. Is that a better way to build or that would be much more expensive.

60D body itself would cost you more than what you are paying for the 600D with the two lenses.

Go for the 600d, you will not be disappointed its a good camera, specially with the pricing amazon is offering. I am using the 650D which is the predecessor of 700d.

Thanks ..... can u say what i will be missing when compared to 650d(especially in Video features)?

I have owned both 600 & 650. My experience is that DSLR video shooting is always with manual focus as I was not at all impressed with auto mode of 650D.

The reason I decided to keep the 650D was only because of silent and fast focus even in still mode with STM lenses.
