Which kind of sound you like. More bass to showoff to others or simple bass with good sound that you will like to listen only??

Hi Harish,

For Honda City, You can go for any Dual Din Head Units as per your taste, that looks cool in the dashboard.

I have few questions and suggestions,

Do you have the stock radio in the car already ?
If its there, you need to take it out and check whether you can place the Dual Din Head unit in the car without changing the console. If you observe closely the AC knobs are closely tied to the center Console.

Dont panic :) , You can buy the center console in any Honda Showroom ( i bought it for 4500) am not sure, you may get it outside also for less price, I was much concerned about the finish, so i bought it in Honda itself.

Speakers, Again you have lots of choices - Rockford Fosgate, Polk, Kicker, Blaupunkt & many.

Personally i use Rockford Fosgate and like it.

IMO - as per user reviews and suggestions, For honda city we may need damping as per your budget, Its not necessary but so many users suggested it.

Enjoy your Search :clapping:

Hye dude you good knowledge but frankly said i didn't like Rockford Fosgate. I had basstube of it but the bass was not so punchy comparing to JBL's 1250.

Hi there,

Some 10 days back i was in the same boat. Mine is 3 months old basic diesel model. There is no stock radio but space for double din. I searched for reviews and surfed a bit to find out that the current world wide heart throb is Pioneer 700BT. But the indian pioneer site does not have 700BT. They have 759BT with mrp of 10,990/-. Almost all dealers said both are one and the same thing. So i bought it. Earlier i was going through this forum only and realized FM Santy has R90BT of JVC which is the lowest costing HU with time alignment. Searched all over the net as well as local market. Not a single piece is available. So went to 759BT. Moreover R90BT is single din and special box was required to look at least decent.

For speakers tried all brands but what the dealer said made sense. Pioneer HU was more at home with Pioneer Component speakers. Music was free flowing. Only issue is i could not crank the volume knob much as the speakers are of 90dB sensitivity. May be later on i will add 4 channel amplifier. Not going the Sub way as of now.

Moreover got good discount i suppose. 4 doors in component and 759 with installation induced a damage of 17K. Just the budgeted amount of yours if u plan a sub.

Later on i am going to add MS-2 as then it will be optimised.

Regards

Sam,

Yeah it basically depends on our likes & taste, I currently use a Polk db1240, whenever i listen to the Rockford fosgate Sub in the other car, I feel RF is very smooth compared to Polk. I didnt used bass tubes till now :) so am not sure about that :D

Harish,

There is one more major thing to note, Do you have volume controls in the steering ?. If yes and if you modify the Head Unit, steering volume controls wont work :(. You have to find a way to fix that.

Even i never searched for that, may be ill search and find it out.

Thanks
