cavasse jersey MT31, help with inputs please.

I was looking for a speaker (only for Music Purpose), yesterday at Profx Kolkata I got a chance to demo these speakers "cabasse jersey MT31" for over 2 hours. Profx recently started marketing these speakers instead of FOCAL. They are Made in France. I demo them with my amp Music Hall A70.2. They are pretty much striking specially the mid. Though the pair was yet to be burn in, but I liked them. Can anybody give any inputs or share own experiences about this? I will be really grateful if you share your opinion or knowledge on them.

They are cabasse.

One of our FM from baroda has them.. he is into open baffle speakers also ( Sumanta )

I havent heard them but have heard of them and i suppose it wont be fair of me to comment but i think you sold your Polk RTi recently and if you find a good amount of difference between the two in a positive way.. then take a call..

how much are they for by the way ?

Cabasse used to be distributed by a Mumbai based distributor quite some years back and i doubt there are many users ( but that in no way makes or breaks them ).

I dont know if that was of much help.

Thanks for the correction and also for the link. The MRP is 84k for "cabasse jersey MT31". From the pictures it seems 'Sumanta' had MT30 model. However I think they are almost similar except MT31 is down ported and MT30 was Front Ported.

I will try to write down filtered effect that I have of my Cabasses.

Cabasse (yes mine is MT30) is almost a neutral speakers with brilliant mid, bass on a bit heavier side considering it a European speaker. Treble to me is wonderful, spatial, timed correctly. It is a very very good speaker for tube amp and for those tiny Lapei ones. I had used them with my Onkyo AV receiver as well for both music and movies. I didn't like music through it that much.
So, these speakers being neutral can perform better with right amplifier. So, audition it with your amplifiers.

My opinion probably won't help you much as I am more happy with OB speakers nowadays. And I hadn't heard other speakers (boxed one) that seriously when I used to have or hear them in showrooms or in friend's places. OBs have an open sound characteristics hard to beat by cabinet speakers.
Bottom line, Cabasse MT30 is a wonderful VFM speaker."
