CDP with USB Port for music in MP3 - Does it produce as better sound as CDs???

Friends,

Is it possible to get equal sound quality to CDs by using MP3 in a Hi-end CD Player with USB Port?

OR even best CDP cannot help produce better sound for music in MP3 Format????

The answer will help me buy a CDP with or without USB Port and I can save atleast Rs. 18K

No not equal as a physical cd with the same song as the cd will have less compression v/s the mp3 file.

But yes it would be better than going for another mp3 player as you will be able to use the dac of the cd player for the mp3 files from usb files also.

You need not store files on usb disk as MP3. You can also store as lossless wav format. Most cdps with usb should be able to play lossless from usb also. Do a demo/ research before buying.
You can attach a TB hdd with usb players where hdd is externally powered. Problem with cdps would be with browsing/ searching for a song, making playlists etc.

some CDps can play WMA,WAV via USB & will be interesting to know that.
