CEC HS 310 Turntable Spindle Stopper Not getting in 😔

Hi
I just tried replacing the belt on my
CEC HS 310 Turntable after long time in storage
When i tried removing the plater it was stuck
So i used back of screwdriver and finally came out????

Now the stopper centre hole was stuck in the plater whole
Again shoved a screwdriver in it and got it out

Now the issue is the Stopper centre hole dose not feet onto the spindle
Please see pictures

The treads inside the Stopper whole look kind of worn out

But the treads on the spindle look good

Please advise on how to to fix this PLEASE HELPPPPP
