Chinese subtitles in NatGeo HD

Hi,

I am a Tata Sky HD subscriber. as mentioned, NGC HD shows up with Chinese subs. This is extremely irritating, considering the majority of Indians cant read mandarin and those rather large fonts take up screen real estate already compromised by channel and operator logos. Also I feel it's extremely unpatriotic for the broadcasters to put those subs for Indian viewers, owing to China's history of hostility towards India, their collusion with Pakistan and their claims over Arunachal Pradesh.

What I would like to know, is whether NGC HD comes with chinese subs with other DTH HD providers such as Sun, Airtel or DishTV, or is this only unique to TataSky.

How can we, as a group, appeal to the relevant authority to get rid of these vile subtitles.

NGC HD has Chinese subtitles only in TATA Sky and BIG TV as of now. In the rest, there are no subtitles. Airtel digitalTV had subtitles some days ago but not now.

And of course subtitles are disgusting as I myself have felt so when subtitles were coming in NGC HD in Airtel, being a digital TV Recorder user.

Send e-mails to TATA Sky to remove them as we have been successful in getting rid of them by sending mails to digitalTV Customer Care.

This is definately a TataSky problem, because I have both SunDirect HD and DishTrue HD and neither of them have ever had any subtitles, chinese or any other, on the NG HD channel.

Also, I am glad to know that, finally someone else too is bothered by this issue too. Personally I don't even have TataSky HD but it still bothers me. In fact even though I had decided to get TataSky HD a week ago I stopped from doing so when I discovered this issue when I was at a friend's place. I am shocked that people have not been complaining to TataSky about this.

PS: Personally I also hate the subtitles that have slowly crept onto all the English channels. Why can't they implement subtitle options in their set-top boxes instead of forcing us to watch English movies/programs with English subtitles. I sincerely hope that the HD channels will be spared from this nonsense.
 
Have already taken up this issue via email would also urge others to pitch in. It would be great if the operator's logo is also done away with.

As the logic goes, i buy the brand and that i need not constantly reminded (by the logo) that this is what i bought. I think this is mainly directed towards commercial establishments. Well a reduction in the size of the logo and some transparency there would be good.

As TS service is pretty prompt i got a call back within hours and though the person was not very clear and stated that they are transmitting the feed as they received the same still stated that he will forward the same to higher ups. not much hope but numbers mailing them will surely turn the tide.

They closed my last complaint which deals with this. I have put in another complaint, and will continue to do so till they resolve. basically the big bosses will only take notice, when they see the same complaint in the pending tickets in their system. Advising other TS HD subscribers to be dogmatic over this issue. If stinking Airtel, can get the subs removed, then why not Tata Sky.
 
Well Tata Sky keeps on closing the complaints I have been lodging in their site. The closed the last one with the following reply :

Dear Sir,

This has reference to your query vide No:SR2709100399563, dated 27/09/10 posted on web regarding Contect telecated in National Geographic Channel.

We Would like to inform you in continuation to our discussion that Tatasky telecasts the programme as provided by the Channel provider but we have taken your feedback also.

As usual I put in a fresh complaint, ( I keep a txt copy of the complaint to make reposting easier) I would urge you guys to keep spamming the complaints section, till this issue is resolved. MAKE SURE THEY DO NOT CLOSE YOUR SERVICE REQUEST TILL THE ISSUE IS RESOLVED
 
I put in a complaint regarding this with some stupid answer fromm the CC that this was from broadcasters end I wrote in a mail regarding this to the mail id help@tatasky the content as below

"Dear Technical team,

I have tried breaking my brains with the customer care team over the phone but they are not able to understand that subtitles by the broadcaster can be switched off even at the customers end provided the stb is enabled with the option. (There are n number of cable providers abroad who integrate the subtitle button on the remote). As for the above mentioned Chinese subtitles, they are not coming with Airtel HD or with Sun HD, so Tatasky needs a solution to put that off in its feed because Airtel and Sun have found the method to do so, so why can not you. Please look into the matter ASAP as its very irritating and its not the fault of NGC as your customer care is trying to prove.

I get a cal that we have understood the problem but can not do anything about it, will forward your complaint but can not give a date when this problem can be resolved. End of story

Tatasky just washes its hand when it comes to owning up to its screwups.
