Chromecast 2 query

Thank you all for inputs for my solution, but again would like to put and clarify as i couldnt use it in chrome first version and had sold it, till now i was looking for some basic android based media player but this will be better to avoid other wire clutters.

1) Existing Himedia 900b hooked to marantz/pana plasma smart on wifi network.
2) Need solution to play media from himedia900b on LG non smart lcd
3) As said i buy chromecast 2, connect to non-smart on same wifi network
4) I should be able to access my media files on himedia which supports dlna

Any idea if someone is selling CC2 or better online/offline place to buy with any deal.

Cheers, Thanks to all
I have one Chromecast Audio, almost like new and unused bought from Flipkart.

I also have one unused Teewe 2 dongle, bought from official online Teewe store bangalore which unlike Chromecast 2 dosen't need an active internet connection to stream local files to the TV.

I want to sell both. If interested, do let me know.

Can you please specify the router model?
And is TP Link router connected to the internet?

AC750 Wireless Dual Band Router - TP-Link

this is the router. Yes it's always connected to internet. If it's not connected to internet, i can access my 1 TB hard drive on wifi from phone/tablet/laptop, but can't cast to chromecast as chromecast always need active internet connection.

It appears, from what I have read in the useful link provided by sam9s, that the Chromecast is capable of streaming locally stored content without the need for an active internet connection. But for some reason, Google has decided to make having an active internet connection mandatory for the Chromecast to work.
However, some user reviews of the Chromecast 2 on flipkart have suggested that no active internet connection is required for streaming local content. Could it be that Google brought about some changes in the new device? BUT, there are also an equal number of reviews that complain about an active internet connection being needed to run the device.
Hmmm, still confused!

I have done this testing months ago. Once you disconnect the internet, chromecast will show on TV that it's not connected to internet.

Guys,

Again posting same thing, should i proceed with CC2 for below

Hi,

Is it chromecast 2 ? i would prefer chromecast over teewe
by the way your reason for selling ?

Does the Chromecast 2 require high bandwidth to play locally stored files?

I don't think so, Infact it should be less as it support wifi ac 5ghz as well and it is with better processor as compared to earlier version with same ram.

No it is Google Chromecast 2 Audio (Latest New Version). It only streams Audio. I am selling Chromecast 2 Audio and Teewe because, since I have got this Audiophile bug :) , I only mostly listen to Audio CDs and watch Blu-rays and refrain myself from streaming anything.

I purchased them in a hurry and now since I am not using it, they found a place in my cupboard.

Let me know if you are interested.

If the bandwidth is low you might experience buffering and lower quality. Sometimes when I watch netflix or youtube and internet is bad, I experience buffering and low quality of videos.

He is asking about local contents.
For sure if we want to cast 1080 youtube video, the min. bandwidth needed is 8 Mbps.

8 Mbps is the upper limit, 5Mbps is usually sufficient, unless your video birate is too high, coz the bandwidth required to stream depends more on bitrate than the resolution.
THis is applicable for both Internet and Intranet .. :)

Still looking at alternative options..... Anyone tried the CloudWalker AI805? It even comes bundled with an air mouse.

Thats a bit off/long way to do it, easier, much easier method is to use Videostream for Google Chromecast Chome browser plugin. It loads on your chrome browser tab, click on choose video button and choose any video from your local PC/Laptop or Networked Drive(NAS) and cast it to chromecast. I have been using it for months now and it is perfect, infact I was so impressed I purchased the full version for the same. You can cast photos and add a background music as well while the slide show is running. Pretty good plugin if you ask me.

any plugin to stream Flac/Wav stored locally or on Cloud to Chromcast?

Bubble UPnP for Android
Videostream for chrome ....Yes it does FLAS as well along with Video files :)
