Has anyone tried this:
TDA7498 100W 100W Class D High Power Amplifier Board | eBay
You will need a power supply, case etc.

It looks like a typical Chinese board and is probably just being resold here. However it's inexpensive enough for experimentation and is shipped from within the country.

Just noticed that it says 0 stock ! You could email and ask if they will become available again ! Maybe not !

OK that's exactly the same board that I bought from the eBay.in site for about Rs 2000/-

I rigged it up. As of now I'm disappointed. Doesn't sound as good as the SMSL 50 that I have. It also doesn't sound very clean like most classD's do. I can't place a finger on it but it just doesn't sound OK. It will take a while to find out what's wrong as I'm currently not well.

Did another quick listening test. Since both SMSL 50 and the new classD board are swappable quickly, The SMSL50 sounds much better. But to ensure that it isn't due to small level differences I will try that later on. Mainly the bass is lighter and the treble appears to be rolled off. Could be the compatibility problem with my speakers which in any case is rated 6 ohms minimum. Midrange is not quite the same.
The SMSL50 sounded good soon after switching on the first time !
I tried them with a preamp in between. No change with the SMSL but the sound of the new classD seemed to have improved a bit though not yet acceptable to me. Funny. I almost thought that the boards came from the same company !

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
