My first pair were a pair of AR 2ax. Actually they were my father's.

MY first pair were a pair of home brew 8" 3way using Philips drivers (8" woofer, 5" cone mid and a pair of 2" cone tweeters).

Sadly I do not have any pics from the past.

Mine also were the AR 2ax. Absolutely nothing touches them.

Marantz Cdp 6003 -> SB Classic -> / Audiolab 8000A + Vintage Akai Speaker SW175 / Highly modified B&W DM4 -> Lyrita IC + Cables => MUSIC

Thanks for the input guys.
@Flash : You can post pics from the net no problem. I also have pioneer Speakers Probably are CS Series.
@ Navin & Heliumflight: Yes I guess AR and JBL were on forefront at that time.
Absolutely nothing touches them.
Yes I understand :)
@ Quad : Whoa ! A much appreciated by one and all speaker. Thanks for the link. Stuff like
aperiodic enclosure employs a damped port
is very interesting as recently I am learning about speakers. Speakers are just 4 ohms. I wonder how they will sound with less powerfull amp. Would be a good combination I guess.
Am telling you. Speaker design is even more complicated than amp design. :p But is interesting.

BBC Rogers LS5/3a
Another classic from the British People. I like British designs. simple and straight forward. Pic of remade speakers on same line and the link

The Unofficial LS3/5a Support Site

Good number of revisions made these speakers a classic.
Coming up : JBLs most popular and largest selling much & appreciated speakers.

My Vintage Speakers circa late 80's i guess.
So far manage it maintain it pretty well, even if I say so myself.

Pioneer CS-303
Sensitivity - 92db
Woofer - 10inch or 12 inch not too sure
FQ response - 45hz -45khz

Got fantastic soundstage and midrange. However because of the Horn loaded tweeter is slightly on the bright side. It paired well my vintage TEAC component system (donated to a friend) as well as new gen warmer amps. Its presently hooked up to my Denon Amp as speaker B while my B&W's 685 are on Speaker A

i am having pioneer cs 405 spk with me.
fantastic sound quality with "12" spk tweter , mid.
the woofer has a dual core coil, means one winded on top of other.

mine is 40 watts normal power & 120 max handle of power.
nice spk dont give them up byeee.....

JBL L100
Best selling Speakers from JBL. There successful 4310 monitor was revised and made for home use. With special attention to Grill cover and its colour :D. I think it was necessary as it was meant for home use but JBL guys did put up sophisticated ideas to make grill acoustically mmmm lets say 'sound' good. :)
As per link these were biggest selling Speaker of the decade

Info : L100/4310

Next : surprisingly humble but HiFi Speakers

@Hiten: for buying or general interest?
Joshua, just gathering information. Details about all Vintage High Fidelity speakers at one place would be interesting. Isn't it ? Also it would be helpful for vintage HiFi Lovers if they want to buy.
Trust me if any of these speakers comes by I wouldn't let it go. :)

General interest
??
Thanks anyway bro.

Tannoy Gold and Acoustic Research AR 3a are also great speakers. A Sansui AU 717 with AR 3a and a good source is a great set up

Thanks prem, just checked Tannoy Gold and AR 3a. From pics looks fantastic. Tannoy says dual concentric loudspeakers. Interesting. :)
Have dedicated fan website too. Will go and have a check.
Regards

How about a pair of Tannoy K3838? They're monster sized (if you have the room and confident of convincing the rest of the folks at home about the appropriateness of having a baby elephant in the listening room;)), and supposedly used in recording studios.

This is available with a Mumbai seller. And not too costly either.

Whoa!!! Bros Some of you may know this but check this out. Tannoy Gold

specs and info : speakers

23hz to 20,000 Khz. Amazing I don't think any other big single driver speaker can reproduce both the extreme fq. range. Very very interesting. Needs more attention. Good fodder for Hifi hungry :). Thanks prem.
