Hello fellow audiophiles,
Returning here after a long time...
I've recently relocated to a new city and, unfortunately, couldn't bring along my cherished home theater system due to logistical challenges. Now settled in a cozy 2BHK apartment, I'm on the lookout for a compact yet powerful music setup that aligns with my musical tastes and space constraints.

Budget -- 60k
Music Preferences: Pop, Trance, Instrumental, Hindi music

Requirements:

  • A sound signature that's exciting and engaging.
  • Decent bass performance, with provisions for a subwoofer.
  • Compact form factor suitable for a 2BHK; floor-standing speakers are not an option.
  • Primary source will be streaming services like Tidal, Spotify, and YouTube Music via iPhone.

I'm a bit nostalgic about the 90s hi-fi mini component systems that were both compact and powerful. In my research, I've come across the Fosi Audio E10 Home Audio Power Amplifier Receiver, which boasts a built-in DAC, Bluetooth 5.0, and multiple input options. Pairing it with passive speakers like the JBL Stage A130 seems promising.

Given the JBL Stage A130's reputation for articulate and accurate response, they might be a good fit. However, I'm open to suggestions, especially if there are better-suited options for my musical preferences and room size.

Budget: Flexible, but aiming for value without compromising on quality.

Waiting for your recommendations on: Fosi Audio E10 and JBL Stage A130 combination.

Alternative compact amplifier and speaker pairings that cater to my music genres and room constraints.

Suggestions for a suitable subwoofer to complement the setup.

Looking forward to your expert advice to help me recreate an immersive musical experience in my new home

Check out Elac Debut Connex DCB41 and Q Acoustics M20 HD. They are very well reviewed.
Thanks for this recommendation seems like a great choice.

Thanks for the suggestions! Both the Elac Debut Connex DCB41 and Q Acoustics M20 HD look great on paper:

Elac Debut Connex DCB41

Active design with built-in amp/DAC/Bluetooth – super convenient

4” aramid-fiber woofer plus 1” silk-dome tweeter for detailed mids and highs

Room-EQ presets and onboard streaming support

More compact than floor-standers.

Q Acoustics M20 HD

Active bookshelf with HDMI eARC and aptX HD Bluetooth

5” woofer for a bit more low-end weight

DSP-tuned crossover for clean, accurate response

Simple setup—but again, I'm tied to the internal amp

Since I really want to gonwithba seperate amp, I’d rather stick with passive speakers + separate amp/DAC. That way I can swap gear as I please and—bonus—I get exactly the sound signature I crave (punchy bass for trance, engaging mids for pop, clear highs for instrumentals, plus warmth for Hindi tracks).

So, what passive speaker and compact amp/DAC pairings would you recommend in the ₹50–60 K range? And any thoughts on a discreet subwoofer that won’t overwhelm a 2BHK? I’ve been eyeing the JBL Stage A130 + Fosi E10 route, but open to better combos!
Appreciate your insights.

The JBL is a decent speaker for the price - i suggested a friend recently pick up a pair of JBL A180's and they sound good for the price. Within your budget however, you can do better - ergo, the PSB Alpha P5. Its a more balanced performer than the JBL and more compact too, yet they tend to sound more exciting and engaging with a more dynamic performance and its a no brainer when it comes to EDM and Bollywood songs which sound simply superb on it. The P5's are high sensitivity too at 89db which boggles the mind considering the size - smaller speakers tend to have lower sensitivity but this bookshelf can give an explosive performance from a flea watt amp too.

For Amps with the left over budget of around 25k, look at SMSL amps at headphonezone. They come with HDMI ARC and a reliable BT connection so you can stream from your TV too. I use both Fosi and SMSL amps and the latter is a more solid product through and through and sounds better with the PSB too.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
