Hello,

I bought a Edifier C2 2.1 Speaker. I would like to connect it to my Samsung 51 F5500 Plasma TV.

Spec sheet for my TV to find out the input/outputs: http://www.samsung.com/us/system/co...pn51f5500afxza/F5500_Plasma_SpecSheet_R16.pdf

Googled that my speaker has : The amp has two input type
1. RCA
2. standard 3.5mm(AUX)

I have no idea about any cables. Please suggest me the best and economical converter options.

(Also I use a Airtel HD+ DTH Set top box and I need to use Speakers for purposes other than TV watching from DTH STB, like gaming from my PC HDMI to TV HDMI)

Why is there not even 1 reply to this post.
TV has

- 1 Component In
- 1 Shared Composite In (AV)

and speaker has
1. RCA
2. standard 3.5mm(AUX)

Can someone suggest me the cheapest and best hassle free route

Your TV, like all other new generation plasma/LCD tvs, does not have a analog audio out
(Analog audio connections are RCA or standard 3.5" cables that your speaker can take)

Instead all modern TVs have a digital audio out (optical)
Meaning audio in digital form
(your TV's specs are here Samsung Plasma TV 51inch, Smart TV Price, Buy 3D Plasma TV India)

So you need to convert the digital audio signal to analog
You can try this FiiO D03K Coaxial/Optical to R/L Audio convertor

Fiio is a highly rated portable audio hifi company. They make headphone amplifiers, portable DACs and high quality MP3 players

This Fiio D03 is a good quality DAC - you can connect either RCA or standard 3.5" aux cable from the "out" of the DAC.

This the cheapest way to connect your TV to your speakers

Thanks ... I will consider it since it is quite expensive (2k).... Or I might just directly connect my PC directly with HDMI and connect the speakers to 2.1 and the DTH to a TV Tuner which will be a better buy than a 2k convertor make a HTPC out of it and use it for gaming and watching and recording TV

You can probably find cheaper DACs - I told you about the cheapest good quality one. After all, you are trying to better the sound by using speakers. No point in degrading the sound signal using poor quality DAC

And turning the PC into HTPC is not as simple. Especially setting up TV tuner cards etc. Needs lot of tinkering & experimentation - basically lot of time
