Hello,

I need an advice. I'm planning to buy a new speakers (probably Harman Kardon HKTS35) with amplifier - I'm thinking about Onkyo TX-NR 616 or Harman Kardon AVR 260.

I'd like to connect my pc - SB X-Fi Elite Pro (5.1/7.1) to the amplifier with analog 3.5 - RCA like this:

Creative Worldwide Support

Is it possible? I don't want to loose ex. EAX.

I read manual to TX-NR 616 and there are TV/CD, PC, GAME, STB/DVR, CBL/SAT, BD/DVD composite analog jacks. I'm not sure if it will work.

H/K AVR 260 has 8 audio in, so I presume it would be a better choice... maybe.

How to connect my x-fi?

Also, I'm wondering what is the real power consumption of this Onkyo or H/K?

Hi Robb80,
Yes its possible to connect your X-fi elite to HK AVR 260. Three options
1. You can connect 6 channel out from your sound card to 6/8 channel input of AVR ( HK 260 ). Use Stereo-RCA cable.
2.YOu can use Optical out of your X-fi elite to any of optical in socket on your AVR.
3.Same way you can connect SPDIF out on your X-fi elite to COAX in of AVR.

Step 1, will keep EAX features of your X-fi as it is. AVR will just amplify the sound signals.
Step 2 and 3 will feed digital output from your X-fi to AVR. Sound Synthesis and Amplification done by AVR.

Try all these, AS HK/Onkyo have good digital processors.
