Hi,

Just wanted to get your views/opinions. I've had a Creative Inspire 2.1 for about 4 years and the sound was satisfying.
But how are the 5.1 speakers in creative. Are they competitive enough?

Can someone throw some light if they can be considered on par wiht serious HT set-ups like Onkyo, Denon etc :o

thanks,
Ravi

to my ears, they are not good.
and no, they cant compete with what you have mentioned.
and no, the ones you mentioned are not serious HT setups.
spend some more time on forums browsing and you will learn more about this. whats your budget btw.

Thanks :)

Well, initially my budget was 25k and was going to buy an Onkyo HT-S3400.But I stopped when I auditioned a setup with a active Subwoofer alongside this one.
3400 didn't impress me in front of the active SW setup.

So I upped my budget to 35-40k.

Hi Ravi,

I have 2 sets of Creative 2.1 speakers with my old and new computers. What i feel is that the quality of speakers has gone down. In my old system, the speakers are working fine but the volume control has gone for a toss. In the new system, i am not getting sound in one channel.I would advise you against going for Creative for your HT system. May be it is one in a case for me, but still i feel it is not worth.

Happy to hear that you have upped the budget and going for better speakers

Regards,
Antony

Any speakers are as good as your ears think them to be.

At your budget dont think about creative.

I dont know why doors666 thinks onkyo/denon are not serious HT Set up. I think they are. Even they have high end models. It all depends on your budget.
