DAC not working after polarity change by mistake

Hi FMs,

By mistake when connecting 12v power supply to my DAC, i reversed the polarity.

Now my dac is not powering on.

You might have smoked it. Not sure if this unit has a protection diode in its DC path to protect against reverse polarity.
On visibility i could not find any particular damage.
I also removed one silver capacitor near to DC jack. It was showing shorted in multometer (before removing). So i thought it would be the culprit and removed it.
But again same problem. Some short is somewhere.

After few days of testing with multimeter, the short was found and it was the diode which you mentioned. I removed the diode and now it is back working.
