Dear friends I want to connect my HP Pavillion laptop to Norge amplifier, I tried creative 5.1 external card, but sound is not that good. ( with Wharf bookshelfs)

(They sound very good with my sony DVD)

please suggest if i need to have a DAC to improve the sound quality and output.

Also suggest some budget DAC available in India.

Well i dont know the tech details, i just need to attach my laptop to Norge
and able to hear good sound.

Is Valab Nos good for this and how much does it cost.

If I may ask a related query here, I am looking for a DAC (DIY or otherwise) which can send 5.1 signal from my laptop to my AVR Denon 1611. Is there a DAC that would do the trick.

I have a DIY usb dac which sounds good. Actually I am using it to connect my laptop to my norge 1000 and Wharfs. Cost me 5500 to build. I also have a Fiio E7 which is good too but not as good as the previous one. Will add a SPDIF input as my dell XPS has one. USB has an inherent incapability of delivering 24bit data.
