Hello:)

Can someone please help me. I already have cantus aurum v3m bookshelf and Fiio x5 2nd Gen DAP to play my FLAC, my concern is which is better when I buy a Tubeamp. I hope you can enlighten me.

Fiio x5 > 3.5mm TO 2RCA > Cayin INTEGRATED AMP CS55A W/ DAC
- OR -
Fiio x5 > 3.5mm TO 2RCA > Cayin POWER AMP

Is there a benefit for an INTEGRATED AMP if my DAP has built in DAC?

Thank you

Chris

When taking the 3.5mm out of your DAP, the DAP's dac is in use.
You certainly would want to use a pre in between your DAP and the Power amp, not a very good idea in my opinion to use it directly with the power amp.

In that respect there is benefit in using the Integrated over only a power amp in such a setup.

Hi,

I believe your DAP has a digital coax out - unfortunately the Cayin has a USB Dac and therefore you can't use it for streaming pure digital signal from the Fiio into the Cayin. So you are going to see the impact of the analog stage of the Fiio.

Perhaps you may want to consider using your laptop with a USB cable into the Cayin's USB.

Or consider consider a Cayin integrated without a USB Dac. I listen a lot to my friend's Cayin integrated (think the model is A88) and its really good.

Good luck.

Use Fiio X5's line out connection to connect to integrated amp, do not use headphone out for obvious reasons...
