deciding on a DAC

Hello Forum,

I am based in Bangalore and am trying to decide on a USB type DAC purchase, a new one preferably.

- existing setup - Acoustic Portrait Amplifiers and Speakers
- The budget - and yes this is the absolute outer limit - is $450 retail (most likely this purchase will be made in the US)

What would be ideal is if I can audition a few of the DACs in the given range - for example Schiit Bifrost or the HRT Music Streamer HD - prior to making a purchase. If any forum member based in bangalore owns these DACs, please PM me and we can take this forward. Thanks for your help with this project.

Bingo! The very first DAC you mentioned is what you should consider auditioning first - Schiit Bifrost.
If you are based out of US, bring one home and test audition it for 15 days. They will take it back and refund you the money if you don't like it. What more?
