I take the "7" as "&"

Now to answer your first question...Well, I'd anyday go with the Tannoys.

To answer "why"...there are many reasons. The most important one being, I love the F1 for their excellent hifi duties. I belive in a simple formula that - if a speaker is good for music, it will definitely be fit for movies by default, this is based on my experience and hence the choice!

All the best.

I can??t remember any drawbacks with the F1s. They are indeed very durable and are the least fuzzy about compatibility and positioning.

Oh well, some don??t like its rather boring looks:rolleyes:, that is, if that counts.

Plus, bookshelves always give a much richer and fuller sound compared to the satellites. Only you can decide what impresses you. Some serious auditioning and patience are highly recommended!

Hi
I ask more questions bcos I bought mission m30i which was
dull in midrange, vocals with Onkyo receiver. My onkyo satalites
were sounding much clear ,open than mission.

Secondly tannoy dealer is not in Mumbai. So I am more alert before
ordering Tannoy F1 from Delhi.

I want neet sounding speakers with clear vocals, crisp but not
very harsh treable.Bass can b ok.(subwoofer is ready)

So pls. share with me your special experience with Tannoy F1

thanks.

Tannoy F1 Customs.-- Sublime mids and highs ( not harsh at all ) . Audiophile qulaity to the bone . heard just one pair as a 2 ch set up .. simply superb. I think they retail for 16k a pair. Nuthign comes close to the quality at that price. Can compete with much more exp speakers with ease. Would not hesitate one bit. Tannoy distributor in delhi- Sunny -Great to do business with wiht excellent support. Incedently they also deal in krell which i bought through them.

Hi,

After your suggestions I manage to get Tannoy F1 in Mumbai.

But one problem - I came to know The Mercury F1 and the Mercury F1
Custom are two differert products.

So which is better?
Which got whathifi award?
What is difference?

I have few days to answer.

Thanks.

I heard the FI customs.. Cant say about the difference. Check out the tannoy web site .--EDIT-- I think the FI is the archived model . FI customs is the current series.

I believe the custom is now made in UK. It has new crossover & tweaked cabinet.
But the main point is that it is tonaly much better & spending 2k is wroth it.
All the best.

Hallo,

I have decided to go for complite system instead of buying seperate
speakers.

But again one query-

In whatshifi Best buy section they have always recommended Tannoy
Mercury F1 5.1 system with picture. As name suggest they should
contain 4 mercury F1 BS speakers.
But another review in July issue pg.63 says that F1 system contains
4 F1 custom not F1 speakers.I dont have earlier issue with system
review,also no review online.

I am confused.

Pls. tell me which is this 5.1 system recommended by Whathifi and also
won the award?

pls. reply.
