Dell U2311H with Denon AVR x 500

Hi

I recently setup my home theater with a lot of help from the info available on this forum...have my tv, cpu and xbox connected to it...

for connecting the cpu...i have connected hdmi out from my cpu to the hdmi input on av receiver...with the hdmi out from the denon going to my monitor (Dell U 2311H)_

I am facing an issue that the size of my display has changed when i am watching it...aka black bars on all the 4 sides...when i connect the monitor directly to the cpu...this problem doesnt occur...also while looking at screen resolution adjustment screen I see that the monitor identified by Windows 7 changes to "Denon AV" from "Dell U2311H" when the monitor is connected via the av receiver...

the screen covers the full monitor when i am using it to watch my dth content

please let me know what am i missing here or any other info i can provide for easier resolution by you guys

Something is wrong in the setting of CPU,

Check what resolution u getting when opting through denon
Is it full 1080p??
It might be giving lesser resolution on default and u might gotta change manually


Post some screen shot if possible

Hi actually the resolution it shows is full 1080p..it looks like that too... However the area covered on the screen is lesser... However the description of the monitor changes from Dell u2311h to denon avr... Will post some screenshots

In monitor check resolution not sure of this though. Also try resetting avr to default settings by turning off the avr then press both the source select buttons left as well as right. Now without leaving these buttons press the power on/standby button on the avr. This will reset the avr to factory defaults

I was able to take the screenshots ...attached with this mail

before pics are with the av receiver in hdmi passthrough mode where display covers full screen

after pics with the av receiver turned on you can see the gaps in the border and display
