Hi, I got a brand new Denon Av Receiver-AVRX2500 few months back and it just went live in new house. Everything works as expected, but there is one serious issue and Im unable to trace, whats going wrong.

I will explain here -- Xbox one 4K is connected to GAME HDMI port. Apple TV 4K is connected to MEDIA PLAYER HDMI port.
One is using xbox HDMI 2.1 cable and one is using Welkin HDMI 2.1 cable (very expensive) :(

But the AppleTV doesnt work. But as soon as I swap the cables, it works.

Meaning, both xbox and apple tv works if I connect the xbox HDMI 2.1 cable.

But both doesn't work with belkin 2.1 hdmi cable.

First I had got this cable and tried https://amzn.to/2uOyK0s but it did not work.
Then I thought may be the most expensive belkin will do, so I bought this https://amzn.to/2TDLvWj and this also doesnt work.

How do I trace what's wrong ?

I dont think, 2 brand new HDMI cables can be of any problem.
Do I need to contact Denon warranty ?

Try connecting directly to the TV instead of the HDMI port in your receiver and see what happens. IF it is working with direct connection then definitely some handshake issues with the denon. I recently got a DAC hdmi cable 2.0a(refer the link below) which is very reasonably priced but it is not 2.1. Performance is good and it even supports dolby atmos through e-arc in netflix.

Apart from what @Love4sound suggested above, also try different HDMI ports in your avr.
Also see, if there is any specific direction indicated in hdmi cable.
Also try interchanging the belkin 2.1 cables with the hdmi cable which you have connected now between your tv and avr

Price of the cable is irrelevant - What I am not able to gather from the description is whether Apple TV works with the xbox cable connected to either of the GAME or MEDIA PLAYER HDMI ports on your receiver

if it does then your cable is the problem ..

If the ATV works with the xbox cable on the game port but not on the MEDIA port then the denon has a problem

PS: The ATV has a check HDMI connection option in settings, you should run that test as well

yes Apple TV works and xbox works and everything works with xbox cable.
But as soon as I connect Bluerigger or Belkin - nothing works :(

Ok mostly cables are at fault here. One last thing you can try is connect it directly to your tv and check.

Ok let me try connecting both blue rigger and belkin directly to TV and see if it works or not.
And I have also tried connecting the cable to other input like Bluray or others, but it doesnt work.

As soon as I swap it with xbox cable, everything works.

But again, I doubt, if two different brand new cables can have a fault/./

It is highly unlikely but you will never know. You may even get 3 HDMI cables that doesn't work hahaha. If HDMI port is the issue then the Xbox cable will also not work. Connecting directly with TV will confirm

Imho,,Most likely it will end up in AVR Hdmi board / Handshake issue.
How you are swapping the cable ? In "Power ON" condition of AVR & source or "Power off "condition?
