I had this receiver for more than 5 years and it started to have some problem on opening from last year. It sometimes turned on and turned off automatically with standby LEDs blinking, the only way to fix it is to keep pressing the ON button. Is there any problem with this avr?its not totally dead.
Sorry for my bad English.

Could be a loose contact with the On button. Try taking it a proper denon support or A/V technician for consultation. I believe its out of warranty so you'll need to bear the expenses on your own.

Could also be a power supply issue. Do you have frequent power fluctuations?

Thanks for replying, and I don't think it's the problem on power button as every time I turned it on using a remote control, and it turned off automatically in the same timing, lets say 5seconds after opening. And last time when I connect it directly to the wall socket, it successfully turned on but after a few days the error comes out again. So can I connect it to a 5-gang extension?or I have to use a separated wall socket instead?

Hi there Ytong95,

I am having the same issue with my denon avr-1602 as you have, what did you finally do to fix the problem ??

Is it the power supply ?? or something else ?

thanks

George

I suggest you place the amp where it has enough breathing space i.e. ensure the top side of the amp has a lot of space available. I had this issue on the same amp as well and doing the above fixed the issue. I remember suggesting this to another member as well and this resolved his issue as well.
