Denon Avr 1610 with Jamo a340

Hi!! All

Recently i got a demo for Denon Avr 1610 with Jamo a340. Vocal sound qauality of Jamo A340 was too good. Jamo a340 are priced for 55k in mumbai.
Even i had a demo of Denon Avr 1610 with some tower speakers of Jamo. but Jamo a340 was simply outstanding.

No doubt the guy was a dealer of Jamo.

I would like to ask forum which speakers should i go for, if my preference is

70% music and 30% movie considering i am going with Denon AVR 1910.

avr+5.1 set?
or
avr + fronts?
or avr+ 5.0 ?

eitherways, for 55k the jamo a series is not worth the money, youll be wasting your money over it. It's a plastic body with minimal internal dampening with front metal grill.

if youre going to spend 55k, spend another 20k and get

cambridge audio sirocco 5.1 set for 38 + 24k for denon avr 1610. These will crush the jamo a series plastic speakers with audiophile grade internal components and design.

Try "Alliance4" & "The Shop" at D.N. Nagar, Andheri. They are authorised dealers for Cambridge Audio. Alliance4 looks like a shack but the guy there is pretty friendly and they gave me a detailed demo even though I had said that I am not looking to buy immediately. "The Shop" is slightly posh looking than the former one. Both are around 100m from each other, so you can check out both back to back.

Speaker sound is a very subjective thing. So the best way is to take the demo yourself and then decide. I remember seeing a Mission pair at Croma Bandra. Also Vijay Sales may have Missions.

Yes it is, search this forum for a bit you should find it. I know there is one store in cp thats called fx entertainment, they quote 45, tell them to bugger off because its available for 38k everywhere else.

Sir,
If you are ready to spend 1.4 lac avoid Jamo"s. Try for crystal THX certified speaker 5.1 package which are around 1.2 lac.

At these prices, you can get much better speakers. Look for speakers from DefTech and Martin Logan.

Before spending so much monet try getting demo. Performance of speakers should be tested on the songs and not on the Movies. Yesterday i got Demo of Mirage MX 5.1 on Marantz, movies where convincing but not songs.
No doubt Jamo i good but not worth for money.

Alliance4 now shifted to Goregaon & not sure that they closed at Andheri.
